Happy New Year, Sophie. Sorry not to have been in touch for ages. But I like simple - I think I over-complicate my life sometimes and cram it so there is no room for myself at times.
Tomorrow we start our three day drive back from Tuscany to UK. We've been here longer than usual and spent a magical Christmas with family coming over here. Like in a storybook, the snow fell for them on their first morning and three deer wandered down to the river though the oak woods to drink. I have a manuscript to finish but I've deliberately taken longer with this novel and have tried something different. Thanks for being you and my 2025 bring you serenity, good health and happiness. May there be peace in our troubled world. Love, Angela. xx
So lovely to hear from.you, Angela. Your Christmas sounds beautiful and I'm looking forward to hearing more about your new novel. Wishing you lots more space for writing. ✨💜
Thank you for that wonderful message - the words ‘mentor’ and ‘kindness’ came to mind. The image of Athena and an epithet owl helping others on a journey is one that endures. Wishing that joy imbues all that you write, and that you continue to hold open a space for the uncertainty and mystery of this precious life.
Oh, this was wonderful. Thank you. I have been feeling very much the abundance of New Year - related prompts and practices. Each beautiful on their own, but together have felt quite overwhelming at times. I have been reminding myself that I can choose which I explore, and when, but still, knowing I am not alone in this feels very reassuring. And it was wonderful to have some simple tools just to play with. A word I keep coming back to right now is ‘ease’, and saying it out loud repeatedly felt both fun and soothing, and made me explore its sound in a new way. Thank you!
I love keeping things simple! That’s my mantra for so many things in my life.
And my favourite word is ‘hoolie’ … saying it feels like I’m breathing in energy as the hoolie whooshes through me and spins me around!
Happy 2025 lovely Sophie and everyone in the Write! Club. 🏴❤️
Love it, Hilary. Had to look up what it means - and it sounds exactly like what it is. 😄Sending you much love for 2025. ✨

Pete, how lovely to hear from you - and thank you so much for your kind words.
The owl is such a powerful symbol for me. 🦉
I'm wishing you a year filled with writing that nurtures you and much love and happiness. ✨

And thank *you*, Megan. Here's to playfulness and saying things out loud. Wishing you a year full of ease-ful-ness. 💜
